The Founder

Robertha is not your typical candle maker.

With over two decades in healthcare — beginning as a Psychiatric Nursing Aide in 2005, working through mental health and psychiatry, and qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 2011 — Robertha brings a depth of clinical understanding to every product she creates that is simply unmatched in the wellness and home fragrance space.

She understands the nervous system — not as a concept, but as a lived professional reality. She knows how scent engages the limbic system, how alpha-pinene in Frankincense induces a state of rest and digest, how incensole acetate lowers anxiety at a neurological level. She has spent over twenty years watching the human body respond to stress, environment, and care.

Lucere & Amor is the culmination of that knowledge — translated into products that don't just smell beautiful, but actively work to restore, ground, and heal.

The Name

Lucere — to shine. Amor — love.

To shine through love. To illuminate through care. It is both a philosophy and a promise — that every product leaving this studio is crafted with the same intention a clinician brings to a patient: precision, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to wellbeing.

The Science Behind the Scent

At Lucere & Amor, fragrance is never decorative. It is functional.

Every scent is selected through the lens of aromachology — the scientific study of how fragrance affects human psychology and physiology. Our formulations are built around the measurable, research-backed properties of botanical resins, essential oils, and plant-derived compounds.

Frankincense (Boswellia sacra) contains alpha-pinene, studied for its ability to lower heart rate and regulate the nervous system. Myrrh grounds and purifies. Lavender modulates cortisol. Bergamot lifts and clarifies. These are not marketing claims — they are chemistry.

Every fragrance oil we use is phthalate-free and IFRA compliant. Every formulation is cruelty-free. Every ingredient is chosen with the same rigour a clinician applies to a care plan.

The Craft

Our candles begin with pure eco-soy wax — sustainably sourced, biodegradable, and chosen for its superior scent retention and clean burn. Each pour is timed with scientific precision, at a calibrated temperature, to achieve maximum cold and hot throw whilst eliminating pitting, wax waste, and uneven burns.

Wicks are hand-selected and hand-placed for each specific vessel and wax volume. Vessels are chosen not only for their aesthetic — our amber apothecary glass actively protects fragrance compounds from UV degradation. Authentic botanical resins are placed by hand, each one a visual and aromatic link to the raw ingredient within.

Our Sanctuary in Motion diffusers carry the same maximum fragrance load into every journey — because your car is an extension of your sanctuary. Our Aerial Elixir reed diffusers utilise high-porosity reeds and premium carrier bases to deliver a consistent, continuous aromatic presence in your space. Our Aura & Space Mist room sprays offer an instant atmospheric reset — a single mist that shifts the energy of a room in seconds.

Every product will carry full CPSR certification before it reaches you.
